22bet Sportsbook Review
One of the most complete sportsbooks we've used for NZ punters. 40+ sports, deep markets on the events Kiwis actually bet on, and a layout that makes sense - sports on the left, events in the centre, bet slip on the right. Never had a performance issue even during peak traffic.
What stands out is the sheer number of markets per event. Super Rugby Pacific matches had 90-130 markets during the season. Compare that to 60-80 at mid-range bookies. More markets means more angles to find value and more creative betting options.
22bet Markets, Lines, and Odds
Rugby coverage is thorough - match result, handicap, total points, tryscorer, half-time/full-time, first scoring play, and dozens of player props. Cricket gets the same treatment: match winner, top batsman, top bowler, total runs, session betting, method of dismissal, and in-play options across all three formats.
On odds, 22bet matched or beat TAB NZ on 78% of the rugby and cricket markets we tracked. The biggest edge showed up on tryscorer and prop markets where TAB NZ margins are usually at their widest. Average margin on rugby head-to-head was 4.5%, which puts it among the sharpest in the NZ market.
The bet builder works well. Combine selections from the same match, get automatic odds calculation, and see potential returns clearly. Works across rugby, cricket, football, and basketball - easy to throw together a same-game multi without reaching for a calculator.
22bet Sports Betting Special Features
Live betting is seriously responsive here. Odds update in near real-time during rugby and cricket, and the in-play market range is deep. During a Black Caps ODI, we counted 35 live markets including next over runs, next wicket method, and session totals. Cash-out and partial cash-out both work cleanly on pre-match and live bets.
The "Bet Constructor" is a standout feature. It lets you build custom bets that go beyond standard markets. Want to bet on "All Blacks to lead at half-time AND score 3+ tries AND Beauden Barrett to score 10+ points"? Done. Odds generate automatically, and it opens up possibilities that normal markets simply don't cover.
22bet Racebook Review
NZ and Australian racing is covered at the main tracks - Ellerslie, Trentham, Riccarton - with fixed odds on win and place. The full Aussie racing calendar is there too, and Melbourne Cup week gets extra coverage with exotic bet types and competitive pricing.
It won't match BetLabel for racing depth, especially on midweek meetings or harness/greyhound. But if you mainly bet on sports and want to have a punt during the big racing carnivals, it covers enough.
22bet Esports Review
CS2, League of Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, and a few other titles are covered with competitive odds. Major tournaments get match winner, map winner, total maps, and first blood markets. Live betting on esports is available too.
If you follow competitive gaming, the selection integrates nicely with the main sportsbook. You can even mix esports picks with traditional sports in cross-sport accumulators, which is a nice touch.
22bet Live Casino
150+ live dealer tables from Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play Live, and Ezugi. Blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and game shows from NZ$0.50 stakes. Streaming is smooth, barely any lag, and tables are available around the clock.
Casino activity earns loyalty points at the same rate as sportsbook bets, so it's useful for racking up comp points between sporting seasons. VIP tables are there for bigger spenders.
